Obaapa means ‘Strong Woman’ in Twi, spoken in the Ashanti Region, one of the many languages in Ghana. Obaapa is the official name of the fabric design and can be used for both men and women. Strong woman refers to the strong women who sew the jackets at TUMI Ghana, the women’s empowerment centre in Kumasi!

Please note that all of our jackets are unisex. Your right size depends on the fit you want, check out the measurements in the size guide. Multiple sizes and fits are possible per person. Tight and puffy or loose and baggy, it’s up to you!

- All jackets are sewn by seamstresses Annette, Rosemary, Akosua or Patricia at TUMI Ghana.
